Processing in Waikato, Industrial in Waikato, Mineral in Waikato, Process Manufacturing in Waikato

Every day is different which I enjoy and it’s great to be involved in a business that is making it happen both domestically and internationally, it’s a challenge!. Blue Pacific Minerals are New Zealand's largest processor and distributor of zeolite and perlite ore for domestic, commercial, agricultural and industrial applications throughout Australia, Asia and South Pacific regions. Agricultural chemical carriers using our facility to load an active liquid onto the Zeolite. The original parent company, Resource Refineries Ltd, was formed in 1992 by Mr Paul Tidmarsh to process, primarily aluminium dross from secondary smelters in New Zealand.
This was the year significant volumes of perlite began to be shipped to South East Asia, equating now to more than 300 containers annually. Since then, between 400 and 500 containers per year are shipped to Australia. Put up storage sheds and developed the start of the quarry that enabled BPM to begin extraction to service the demand from zeolite markets. Paul and Dave set their sights on broadening the company’s single mineral focus on zeolite to include the mineral perlite.
BPM purchased a company called Central Excavations Ltd, which was essentially a StockRock crushed zeolite contracting and sales business. We believe in continuity and long term thinking both economically and environmentally. Our values serve as a compass for our actions and describe how we behave in the world. I have been involved in the dairy industry for 12 years and enjoy this industry dealing with real people, where every decision they make directly affects their livelihood.
I started out as an istrative assistant, carrying out general office and reception duties and running errands my position grew as the company grew. Les then walks out of the plant and says where’s a blimmen crane when you need one? The part of my job I love the most is dealing with people from all over the world and organising orders and transport and shipping. I now work for BPM in a role of StockRock Product manager and still drive and manage the Brand. I’ve been with BPM since November 2005, working as the Market Development Manager AKA out in left field thinker’.
I enjoy working with the small team we have at BPM, made up of unique individuals with great skills. We all have the freedom of being able to make it happen’ that is, being able to think outside the square and have a go. In 1998 the zeolite deposit, process facility, brands, and markets owned by Fernz Corporation, were purchased. This was the year significant volumes of perlite began to be shipped to South East Asia, equating now to more than 300 containers annually. This was the year significant volumes of perlite began to be shipped to South East Asia, equating now to more than 300 containers annually. The end use for the perlite has been split between two distinctively different applications foundry and petrochemical industry applications. Since then, between 400 and 500 containers per year are shipped to Australia.
Production is expected to double to over 200 container movements each year of zeolite and perlite. Paul Tidmarsh owner and Dave Hill Managing Director joined forces in 1995, initially exploring areas south of Rotorua looking for zeolite deposits with characteristics that suited specific market requirements. Since then BPM have invested in additional storage sheds and have a fully developed quarry with all the requisite, associated mobile machinery.
