What you should know about MAtamata Club Inc

Beer in Waikato, Restaurant in Waikato, Club in Waikato, Bar in Waikato

In 1937 the Club purchased the land that the premises is currently on and a year later the original clubrooms were built. In 1983 the Rawhiti Lounge room was built with a kitchen facility to cater for this area which has a capacity to accommodate up to 150 seated members and is available to members to use for private functions, Xmas parties, 21 st etc. Around 1991 the Rewa Bar was constructed and the Kaimai lounge which we are currently in are also used as a restaurant and a bar and are also available for private functions. We also have an offsale license and have an excellent line of stock available. The Rewa Bowling Club, Matamata Fishing Club, Snooker Sections, 8 Ball Section’s.
Association and all club members have visitation rights to other club’s within the association. My wife, Sally and I, have been living in Matamata for the past 25 years now and have no intentions of leaving in the near future. Sally has just been made a life member of the Matamata Patchwork Quilters Club, she serves on the board of the Kiwanis service club and she supports the Matamata Art Society, having served as a past President. I am currently President of the Matamata Club, having served on the Board of Management for the past three years and I am a keen member of the Walton Golf Club 24 years . We have two children and two grand children living in Auckland and we have one child and three grand children living in Napier, which is another reason why living in Matamata is so attractive with regards to being able to visit them regularly.
We both belong to the Tidco Wine Club where we meet on a monthly basis to, you guessed it, drink wine and enjoy a pot luck dinner. The Wine Club has an annual trip away usually over a long weekend where we visit the wine regions around New Zealand. Over the years we have visited the Hawkes Bay, Marlborough, Nelson, Martinborough and West Auckland wine areas and have sampled what they have to offer. I want to encourage all Matamata Club members to get involved in the various adjuncts and other activities, where possible, and utilise the excellent facilities that are available.
I have two brothers still in Morrinsville, a sister in Matamata and my dad lives at Mount Maunganui. The adjuncts work hard to provide good facilities and events for the members. There is a lot coming up, like an 8 ball fun day on every second Sunday, the Dando 8 ball day 17 September
