Ellis is a Slick 2 coach and was awarded Squash Coach of the Year for 2007 through Squash Fresh Zealand, and was also nominated for the coach of the year at the 2007 Matamata piano Sports Awards. New players are entitled to up to 3 club night games before deciding to become a member. Members of United Matamata Squash are entitled to participate in all club events and activities. Interclub Competitions Held between all Waikato clubs, players are organized by their club into teams of similar graded people which are then entered into the inter club event. The schedule of the other tournaments comprises a B Grade Tournament originate to all players B Grade and below held in May, a Masters Tournament players aged 35 held in June and a Junior Tournament open to all J5 E1 Juniors held in September. It is a immense opportunity to travel to other squash clubs, confront other squash players and be piece of a team. Children can begin squash at any age, however they must be at least nine years worn to receive part in the junior coaching program. Thanks Warren Matt Upcoming Events Junior Squash Starts Monday 13th February Masters Juniors 28th 29th April. All members will be made welcome and encouraged to participate fully in club activities and will be invited to aid when necessary with the running of the club. Non members are allowed to play for up to three club nights prior deciding to join as a packed member. Club Championships Normally held in the second half of the year, the competition is between club members only. Coaching is on Monday nights with beginners commencing at 6pm and the more experienced junior players at 7pm. This combined with a sport that can be played at any time night or day, in any weather, at over 230 locations throughout New Zealand makes the sport popular, effortless to find and a huge way to have laughter while getting fit. Juniors players are encouraged to wear protective eye wear at all times and they are compulsory at all United Matamata Squash junior tournaments. Business House Squash Held February March each year, this is a popular social team event designed to encourage fresh people to play squash and begin the season for returning players
